We’re all tired of hearing about the sun, sea and sand, and Goa Tourism has finally caught on. The sector has swung across a chasm – from the traditional that we’ve known all along to a more adventurous side with exciting activities and facilities for the whole family

During the last four years, Goa’s tourism has evolved like never before, raising eyebrows and probably even giving neighbouring competitors a case of goose bumps! Following the success of monsoon white water rafting started three years ago, and the craving for more fun and excitement, Goa Tourism set the ball rolling with new adventure activities to engage tourists and fulfill their dreams of having a splendid time in Goa.
Goa Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said, “We wanted to ensure that Goa does not lag behind other states who were also attempting to start adventure projects to compete with tourism destinations in South East Asia and Europe.”

He added, “The thought process began two years ago and after evaluation about the kind of activities Goa could sustain, we embarked on designing a practical plan to roll out new adventure activities that would attract tourists. The search for good initiatives, infrastructure requirements, market surveys, agency selection, pricing, permissions was a mammoth task but went better than expected.”

The plan was to start off with hot air balloons, amphibious vessels, sea planes and helicopter rides, which are in demand at tourist destinations across the globe.
