Apple Pie

Apple Pie

For the base
Butter                      200 grams
Icing sugar            150 grams. ½ cup  
Egg yoke                 2 nos.
Refined four           280 grams (2 cups)
Vanilla essence    1 teaspoon

For the upper crust
Oat meal          170 grams (1 Cup)
Brown sugar    3 tablespoons
Butter (solid)    2 tablespoons

For the filling
Apple                            1.5 kg (peeled & chopped)
Butter                            2 tablespoons (60 grams)
Cinnamon powder    1 teaspoon
Brown sugar               120 grams (½ Cup)

1.  Beat butter and icing sugar
until fluffy, add egg yolk and beat until fluffy.
2.  Add flour and vanilla essence and knead to soft dough and set aside.
3. For the filling, peel and cut apples into small pieces and mix in cinnamon powder and brown sugar.
4. Heat butter and sauté the apple mixture till the pieces become soft.
5. Take a round baking tray and flatten the dough on the base as well as to the sides of the tray to half-inch thickness all over
6 Arrange the apple mixture on the flattened dough and sprinkle the mixture of oat meal, brown sugar and butter on it.
7. Bake in preheated oven at 220C degree for about 45 minutes.
8. Cut and serve with vanilla ice cream.
