Rajagiri Victor Hospital launches latest hybrid cath lab

Rajagiri Victor Hospital, Margao, announced the launch of the latest hybrid Philips cath lab, to continue its efforts of offering Goa the best in healthcare. The cath lab is part of its cardiology department set up 15 years ago.

The lab was inaugurated by chief minister Manohar Parrikar, minister for Town & Country Planning Vijai Sardessai, minister for Tourism Manohar Azgaonkar and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat.
With eminent senior cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons, the hospital’s promoters are committed to continue delivering the best healthcare to all its patients.
With the launch of this latest equipment, patients all over Goa need not worry when they suspect heart problems as they can reach the hospital quickly if they need timely treatment.
The cardiology department is supported by an excellent ICU with 24x7 intensivists who take care of patients.  The hospital has also recently started a programme for check-ups which enables patients to detect heart problems in the early stages. As the old adage goes “prevention is better than cure”.
The hybrid Philips cath lab is an advanced piece of equipment that provides the best image definitions of the heart and thereby enables the cardiologist to undertake a proper angioplasty and angiography.
Dr Hanumanthu Jagan who heads the department of cardiology is a senior cardiologist with more than 25 years of experience and has performed thousands of interventions with minimum failures. Dr Sharad Hallard, an eminent cardiovascular surgeon, has almost 15 years’ experience and has performed hundreds of by-pass surgeries.
The hospital also has a full-fledged blood bank which is an asset to patients in need of blood at any time.
