Hog Plums in coconut sauce Serves 4

Hog plums 12 nos
Grated coconut 1 cup (120grams)
Green chillies 4 nos
Pepper Corns 6 nos
Grated jaggery 1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
Asafotida 1 pinch
Coconut oil 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste

1. Wash and peel hog plums. Apply half teaspoon of  salt to it and keep aside
2. Make a fine paste of grated coconut, green chillies and pepper corn by adding one fourth cup of water. 
3. Heat one tablespoon of coconut oil, add mustard seeds and asafetida and when seeds splutter, add hog plums to it and toss it in the tempering.
4. Add half cup of water and cook hog plums till done ( Approx five minutes)
5. Add coconut paste, jiggery, salt to taste and bring it to one boil. and serve

Tip: Since salt is applied to hog plums taste the coconut sauce before adding salt.
