Sharada Mandir honours students

Goa’s first ICSE school Sharada Mandir recently honoured its students who excelled in academic work, co-curricular activities and sports at their annual awards presentation ceremony.

Chief guest Padma Bhushan Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys and who is credited with giving the country the Adhaar Card, was accompanied by his wife and guest of honour Rohini Nilekani who created a records of sorts when she raised nearly `163 crores by selling of her shares in Infosys for philanthropic work. 
In his motivational address to the students, he spoke about leaving his first job at Patni Computers to become a member of the founding team of Infosys and how one should not be afraid to try new things and why it is important to keep oneself up-to-date. 

Chairman of the Sharada Mandir Trust and noted industrialist  Dattaraj Salgaocar gave the welcome address and spoke about the achievements of the students over the last academic year. 

Vice Chairperson of the Sharada Mandir Trust Dipti Salgaocar presented mementos to the guests and Administrator Oscar Gonsalves proposed the vote of thanks. Industrialist Shrinivas Dempo, Pallavi Dempo, Trustee Agnelo Remedios and school auditor Charted Accountant Ashish Verlekar were present.
