King Khan’s ‘Lucky’ charm

Mumbai-based supermodel and actor from Goa Waluscha de Sousa graced the pages of VIVA GOA in August 2010. She recently landed a role opposite Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan in his next film ‘Fan’, which is scheduled to release in August this year. We reconnected with her to find out more about her jump from modeling to acting

When you first chatted with VIVA GOA in 2010, did you imagine getting into films at some point in your life? 
Honestly, no! Not to say that I am not a dreamer, I’m just a little laid back in my approach to life in general. Maybe it’s the Goan in me! I let life happen and unfold as it is meant to. 

You’ve scored a big break starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan (SRK). How did this come about? 
I consider myself very lucky to be working with Shah Rukh Khan and YashRaj Productions. I am not allowed to say much more about this venture as most of it is still under wraps at the moment. 

You’ve acted with SRK in two ad films before this. Did this play a part in your casting in his film? 
Not at all, actually. I fitted the character that was required. The ad films were very different and completely separate, but having worked with him in the past, there was a comfort level that was well established.
