Graceful service

Casa da Graça in Siolim offers a lesson in both heritage and hospitality

As you turn left into a narrow street after crossing the Siridao bridge, you come face-to-face with the oxblood red house with white trim, an inviting visage, tempting you to enter and experience the graceful hospitality of a boutique resort called Casa da Graça, sitting on half an acre of lush river-side land.

The past of the present
Casa da Graça opened early last year, the dream and passion of Simran Kaur, who studied English and photography at Bryn Mawr College and the University of Pennsylvania before being trained as a pastry chef at the Cordon Bleu, London.

Her interest in the property began in 2009, and eventually over 30 months of labour, Casa da Graça, a boutique resort, was born. It is a sprawling villa comprising four rooms, an outdoor pool and a serene riverside.
Villa Morgado, as it was originally called, was built almost a century ago by Senhor Casimiro Honarato de Sequeira Nazare for his wife Maria Gracias and their five children, who lived there until 2006. The house
has been restored to its original condition, with minor alterations, along with additions of comfort in keeping with the expectations of the modern traveller.
