Recent developments in the state, after the legislative assembly election results, show that one certainly reaps what one sows

Most of my columns lately have predominantly been on spirituality. But recent developments have offered me an opportunity to connect the political, legal and Spiritual.

Last month, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which won 21 seats in the last Assembly were reduced to 13; Congress which was hardly nine seats last time won 17. The recently formed Goa Forward Party, which claimed to having been back stabbed by the Congress, returned three candidates to the Assembly. The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), a partner with the BJP in the last government, held three seats with three independents and one from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), making it 40 in all.

Out of 40 whichever party or group has 21 would get a chance to form the government.

Although, this column deals with the political ramblings in Goa and across India, it has great spiritual potential. A student of the Law of Karma can minutely observe and see through various happenings, twists and turns which take place.

True, according to principle, the single largest party commanding majority will be invited to form the government if it stakes claim to it as the verdict is returned in their favour. If no party commands majority in the House, then the governor is not bound to invite anyone. If no one stakes claim in the Assembly, conventions support the fact that governor may invite the single largest party to form the government and, therefore, the confidence on the floor of the House.
