The upcoming festive season presents more than a simple dilemma of what to wear. It’s a time to introspect on hand-crafted local weaves to put the spotlight on India. VIVA GOA showcases the best of Lakmé Fashion Week 2017 that brings ethnic wear into focus

It’s the season of festivities, so it is but natural that Indian designers make the most of it. At Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017  presented especially for Diwali and the festive season, designers allowed their creativity to push the envelope and offered some amazing Indian and fusion wear that will delight fashion followers.
The fabric story for the season is rich, with brocades being in the forefront along with gorgeous embroidery and prints that add to the sparkle of the collections.
The colour palette has always been beautifully vibrant and almost resembles the rainbow as every shade in the chart appears on the runway, with white and black being some of the popular hues.
When it comes to silhouettes, the traditional sari is ever popular with the lehenga, choli and dupatta favoured by women. Anarkalis and flowing kurtas are hot favourites for the 
various festive occasions that are part of the Diwali scene.
Jewellery comes in festive designs too to match the religious fervour of Diwali. Created in gold, the patterns are totally avant garde with innovative concepts turning them into conversation pieces.
