A Harrold Pinter play directed and adapted to the Indian cultural scene by National school of Drama, Director, Aditee Biswas at the Sudarshan Rangmanch theatre, Pune. Staring Miles Lobo as Robert, Pooja Bhora as Emma and Vignesh Shivasubramaniam as Jerry.

The play tells the story of a love triangle between Emma, her husband Robert, and Robert’s best friend Jerry. As the story is told in reverse chronological order, the deliberate order of scenes focuses our attention on ways in which meaning and knowledge is constructed. In other words we see the outcome first, then we see how it lead there. This reversal helps highlight the audience's perspective.

The play ended with a standing ovation. Here are a few comments gathered from the audience.

-That was very entertaining, good show!

-A very honest performance.

-I would definitely love to see it again, one viewing is not enough!

Asking Robert (acted by Miles Lobo) to share a few thoughts/experiences on working in this production, he says:

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with a very talented team. The process? Well... Working on this play felt a lot like working on a puzzle. Initially I felt this way because of the timeline, but after we got passed that I realised it was the writing. This play is full of moments where several characters say one thing while doing or meaning something completely different. It was fun to work with and very challenging. I am glad that the audience were supportive’.

An Indian culture with Pinter's English sense of rhythm and dialogue delivery, made for a very entertaining, unique and memorable play to watch.

Betrayal was performed on 15th January 2016 at Sudhrshan Auditorium Pune.
