Goafest 2019, an event that celebrates the best in advertising and media from around India, recently concluded at Grand Hyatt Goa after three days of creativity, discussions and knowledge sessions. The event was presented by Viacom18 and powered by MX Player.

President of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) Ashish Bhasin said, “Over the last few years we have seen growth in participation, with lines blurring between media and creative sectors. At Goafest 2019, on the back of an exclusive list of speakers and artists, we have seen a sustained registration of about 2000 delegates, while the ABBY Awards have seen 2700 entries this year.”

Chairman of Goafest 2019 Nakul Chopra added, “Democratisation is a trend sweeping through the industry and we are proud of Goafest 2019 being an integral part of this change. It has been our endeavour to drive inclusivity, irrespective of size and without the limitation of cost and opportunity.”

Setting the ‘tune’ for Goafest 2019 was popular singer Shaan, who wooed the audience with soulful and nostalgic songs, as well as quick-witted anecdotes from his jingle-singing days, letting everyone in on his advertising connection.

The Unplugged session was followed by four powerhouse speakers at the Industry Conclave with Disruptors In The Indian Digital Ecosystem. These included creator and managing director of Thyrocare Dr A Velumani, director of Mass & Brand Marketing at Amazon Ravi Desai, associate director of Brand Marketing & Heads Digital Media at Flipkart Vijay Sharma, and vice president of Marketing at Myntra Achint Setia.

Day 2 kicked off with a Knowledge Seminar by Colors Marathi, and sessions that touched on Viacom18’s brand promise of Open New Worlds.

Speakers on the second day included chief creative officer and founder of Badger and Winters Madonna Badger, and founder and Global chairman Gordon Bowen.

Kubra Sait moderated a fun and high energy session on bullying with Bollywood stars Kalki Koechlin and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

The final day concluded with the Creative Abbys handed out to India’s most creative agencies with Cheil India winning seven Golds and Dentsu Webchutney topping on points.
