Lucimar Ferreira da Silva (LÚcio)

Brazilian international Lucimar Ferreira da Silva, also known as Lúcio, is a strong defender with good aerial play and adds excellent presence in FC Goa’s attacks. Lúcio began his career at Sport Club Internacional in Brazil after which he was bought by German club Bayer Leverkusen in 2000. Lúcio won the World Cup for Brazil in 2002 and participated in the 2006 and 2010 finals.

After cementing his reputation at the club, he moved to fellow Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2004. With
the Bavarians, he won three Bundesliga titles before leaping over the Alps to Italy, where he joined Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan.

At the Nerazzuri, he picked up a Scudetto, two Coppa Italias, one Super Coppa and the Club World Cup. The highlight of his time at Inter Milan would be the Champions League triumph over his former club Bayern. With Lúcio joining the Blues of Goa to play alongside Frenchman Grégory Arnolin with whom he shares a solid play relationship, the defensive worries of FC Goa’s fans have eased considerably.
