SPEARHEADING GOA INTO THE FUTURE
The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), a government of Goa undertaking, has been working consistently towards the betterment of the state, with its achievements including a cable-stayed bridge in Corjuem, hi-tech Saligao waste management plant, redevelopment of Patto plaza, construction of central library and Taleigao community centre and a coveted seat in India’s Smart City Mission
The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) may have the onus of creating a roadmap to take Goa into the future by developing and modernising its infrastructure, but it also wears that badge with pride. The GSIDC was floated by the government as a special purpose vehicle for speedy implementation of state infrastructural projects.
Through rigorous planning and disciplined implementation, this enterprising body has already set the state on a path of undeniable growth. It goes without saying that the process is an interminable one and there are several new projects in the pipeline.
Apart from projects including the cable-stayed bridge in Aldona, waste management plan in Saligao, it has also built the Taleigao community hall and redeveloped Patto where it constructed the central library.
GSIDC’s vision proudly sets out “to set a hallmark in the rapid qualitative design and construction of infrastructure projects”. Chairman Dr Pramod Sawant, vice chairman Siddharth Kuncalienker, managing director Sanjit Rodrigues and executive director of finance Swayandipta Pal Chaudhari speak to VIVA GOA about the organisation and its various endeavours.
