Luxury cocooned in simplicity

Tucked away in Goa’s best real estate development, Aldeia de Goa at Bambolim, is an elegantly styled house that presents its owner Anush Faridi a home with a holiday resort feel

Built on a sloping piece of land, the house of Anush Faridi is nestled in the upscale Aldeia de Goa property in Bambolim, north Goa, and adjoins the Aldeia club house with splendid views of the pool on one side and the Zuari River in front. The plinth of the house is raised making space for a basement that houses the garages and quarters for the domestic help. A neat L-shaped stairway from the roadside takes you to a small porch that has a water body from which water gushes out, creating a serene environment as you enter the house.

Architect of this bungalow, Sahish Khandeparkar guides us to the interior of the house, explaining that “the clients wanted a simple home that has a more ‘holiday resort’ appeal and a spacious feel”. He adds, “When we showed them the designs, they were hooked at ‘first glance’. This is more like an open-house design.” Large windows and wel- orchestrated, clean and de-cluttered spaces define the largeness this house has to offer. The living room and dining space along with the open kitchen at the far end seamlessly merge into one another.
