Sporty BMW X3 debuts in India
The new BMW X3, which combines sporty dynamics with premium ambience and robust agility, was launched recently in India.
President of BMW Group India Philipp von Sahr said, “The new BMW X3 is the embodiment of independence, whether it’s on the way to work or on a weekend with family or for some quality time alone. It is built for both the small and big challenges that each day brings. Its sporting character is revealed in an extremely dynamic driving experience with impressive efficiency and fascinating design that emphasises the athletic character of the new BMW X3.”
The car is available for the first time in a new design scheme: the BMW xLine equipment package which brings out the robust and dynamic Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) character more prominently.
The BMW X3 xDrive 20d is the first model to feature the latest-generation diesel engine with outstanding performance and low fuel consumption. The new generation of an all-aluminium 2.0 litre diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology uses common rail direct injection with solenoid valve injectors and works with increased injection pressure. This pushes the engine output to 140 kW/190 hp with the maximum torque of 400 Nm. The rise in performance cuts the vehicle’s 0 to 100 km/h acceleration to just 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h.
The BMW X3 is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in seven metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Glacier Silver, Sparkling Brown, Space Grey, Mineral Silver and Melbourne Red. The standard Nevada leather upholstery is available in Black, Beige, Oyster, Saddle Brown and Mocha colour combinations. Interior trims offered are Fine-wood Trim Burled Walnut with highlight trim finishers
Pearl Chrome.
The vehicle is locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai in a diesel variant and is now available at BMW dealerships across India.
