PNG Jewellers opens new store in Panaji
PN Gadgil Jewellers opened its latest store at Lotus Court in Panaji, near Vivanta by Taj, as part of its expansion plan marking the birth centenary and first death anniversary of its founder, late Dajikaka Gadgil. The venture was inaugurated by Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon.
The company is taking forward its legacy of 183 years with plans to open nine new stores over the coming nine months in four states across India, and will also make a debut in the UAE market. Managing director of PNG Saurabh Gadgil said, “By taking PNG to address places as diverse as Panvel, Panaji, Nanded, Dubai, Chandrapur, Baramati, Hubli, Indore and Akluj, we are simply reaching out to our cherished customers all across, who know their hard earned savings are safe with us. The PNG brand has strong roots and it is time to diversify them some more.”
After opening the store, actress Tandon said she was sure the Goa venture would be a wonderful chapter in the PNG story. “Goa is a much-loved shoppers’ paradise and soon PNG will be an inseparable part of it,” she added.
The jewellers also donated ` 2,50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Fund to mark the occasion. After launching the Satyam Shivam Sundaram collection, Chief Minister Parsekar stated, “PNG are known for their ethical business practices and innovative collections and I am sure they will have a successful innings here.”
The collection is a tribute to the divinity of Lord Shiva and his myriad forms. It consists predominantly of South Sea pearls held together by red and green beads. It also boasts Japanese and black pearls, and has pieces studded with rubies and white sapphire inspired by Meenakshi (the eye of the fish).
