Water Worlds
Enjoy the cool gushing streams of the monsoons at 8 of Goa’s best waterfalls
It is raining magic in the Goan hinterlands and mountainsides! The mighty Sahyadris are drinking in the heavy downpour and quenching their thirst. Suddenly, water bursts forth from its tiny nooks and crevices in the form of springs which gurgle down the slopes and cascade into gushing waterfalls!
In the Sattari taluka, the Sahyadri range is known as the Chorla Ghats after the village Chorla ensconced within its slopes. To get to these hills, take the road from Panjim to Mapusa and then proceed on to Assnora, Bicholim and then Keri via Sanquelim. The road from Keri leads straight to the abode of the waterfalls.
Tiny streams gurgling down the steep slopes gather their own following, with bathers eager to cool themselves down. The pure mountain air exhilarates the spirit as the breathtaking view connects man to nature.
When one almost reaches the summit, an amazing spectacle across the valley forces you to stop dead in your tracks and enjoy the mountain’s version of the Milky Way right in front of you! These are the Vazra Sakla falls that flow in twin formation from the heights of the Sahyadris.
