Summer Layers
A guide to beat the heat with cool summer trends by renowned designers at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016
It’s the new season and at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016, designers created colourful, glamorous trends which moved from beach to casual, day, evening and finally resort bridal wear. There were also some amazing styles in sustainable fashion – the order of the day for most designers. Let’s not forget men’s wear too that has gone for a new look when the temperature rises.
Cool Casuals
There is nothing like cool casuals to bring the heat down. Off-shoulder blouses, tasseled mini lehengas, trikinis, monokinis, capes and knee-length dresses are the look from Shivan & Narresh. Payal Khandwala’s geometric angular look is what summer is all about. She set a trend with draped one-shoulder tunics, sleek pant suits, neoprene body suits with organza covers, dual tone maxis and skirts with white shirts.
Fashion ease comes with Kriti Tula’s loose striped shirts and bell bottoms, jumpsuits, simple waistcoats, asymmetric long shirts, striped Bermudas and blouse. Kanika Goel has sporty summer wear with long tees, athleisure tops with pencil skirts, and play suits with matching covers.
