WILL Women forum held at Vivanta by Taj, Panaji
NGO WILL Women Forum held a seminar for women and young entrepreneurs from leading companies across India at Vivanta by Taj in Panaji last month. The meet was aimed at men and women professionals in small and large firms who want to understand the value of balanced leadership for business success; CEOs and entrepreneurs seeking to gain knowledge of how diversity matters to business and more.
The forum featured intellectual discussions and inspiration from delegates. Speakers discussed an array of topics including women in leadership, diversity for innovation and ideas in business, critical learnings for women on boards, male business managers, roles and responsibilities of boards of directors and more.
They included WILL Forum India CEO Poonam Barua, head capability development, British Petroleum Matangi Gowrishankar, WILL Goa partners Prerna Mainker and Noeline Mendonsa, corporate governance specialist, International Finance Corporation Lopa Rahman and advisor of V M Salgaocar Group M Durairaj.
The sessions were structured around plenary panels, parallel sessions, round tables, etc. The WILL Forum was launched in 2007 with a mission and mandate for bringing the best business practices for women in the workplace, mentoring women for leadership positions, benching inclusive growth and equal opportunity eco-systems and promoting balanced boards for good governance and national progress.
Over 6000 women and men, from more than 250 leading companies and multi-national corporations participate in the WILL Forum programmes and roundtables, with over 650 WILL mentees fast-track women executives. The Forum has also released more than 14 research reports and awards best employers for women companies.
