That which brings light...
The festival of lights brings colour to lives: each day is significant and has a story to tell. VIVA GOA asks a few of its avid readers about their favourite Diwali moments
R K Srivastava, IAS
Chief secretary of Goa
Diwali is a festival of lights that brings joy and happiness to all segments of society .We pray to Goddess Laxmi for prosperity and success in all walks of life .
We as a family enjoy lighting candles, diyas, with the ladies making rangoli at the entrance of the house. We also enjoy fireworks going up in the sky and bursting into a magnificent canopy of dazzling star-like formations.
This is the moment we all cherish very much and wait for eagerly till the next year!
ADMIRAL Shekhar Mittal, IN (Retd)
