Women's day celebrations at HDFC
On the occasion of International Women's Day, HDFC Bank conducted an interactive workshop for its women employees in Goa. Titled ‘sexual harassment at workplace and safety of women and legal safeguards,' the workshop was conducted in the presence of Legal Service committee Goa, chief guest and senior judge North Goa women's cell Pooja Kavlekar.
During the fun and interactive workshop, women were taught simple self-defence techniques. The workshop also involved a discussion on overcoming domestic violence, sexual harassment at workplace, how women can seek legal aid, and precautions women can take. All the attendees were presented with roses.
HDFC Bank empowers women, including its employees through various initiatives. The bank has empowered over 80 lakh women at the bottom of the pyramid across 27 states of India through its Sustainable Livelihood Initiative, thereby improving the lives of over 3.2 crore Indians. Through its CSR programmes, the bank has constructed over 11,000 individual toilets, over 5,500 schools toilets and sanitation facilities to promote good hygiene practices and help girls continue their education.
