THE EPONYMOUS EXPERIENCE

With a name that promises an unforgettable memory, its satisfied customers are testament to the fact that AWESOME SALON & SPA in Candolim lives up to its name
Nestled in one of the bylanes in Candolim just off the main road is a spa which, by the very virtue of its name, promises an ‘awesome’ experience. “Awesome means amazing, stunning, extraordinary, mind-blowing, incredible, wonderful, out of this world and we had wished to develop our spa as per these words, where people can feel the meaning of our ‘awesome’ through our services,” says Shibili Hameed, the spa manager of Awesome Salon and Spa, which was set up by three partners: Ashok M Kenkre, Fazal Mahmood Changaroth and Amornwan Phalao.
Phalao’s experience in sucessfully managing spas in Japan, Korea, China,Thailand & Hong Kong proved useful when the three decided to go ahead with their venture. Awesome Salon and Spa opened its doors to customers in March 2013. A year later, its happy customers continue to rave about the salon and spa that lives up to the high standards set by its name.
As we enter, Hameed tells me about the spa’s motto, “Here, we are committed to providing our customers with an atmosphere where they will feel at home the moment they walk through the door, and an experience that leaves them feeling pampered and genuinely cared for through a combination of our passion for beauty treatments and spa with our experience and enthusiasm.”
The premises are bright and well lit, with the salon seating on the ground level while the spa rooms reach onto the first floor. The decor involves a lot of Buddhist motifs while purple dominates the colour palette. The helpful staff is well informed and if it’s your first time at a spa or a salon, they will help you make an informed choice, whether you go in for a salon or spa treatment.
