Mukul Rohatgi has been the Attorney General of India since June 2014, having earlier served under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government from 1999 to 2004 as the Additional Solicitor General of India. His work gives him prolific knowledge on the inner workings of the country’s government at the highest levels.

You were the Additional Solicitor General of India under Prime Minister A B Vajpayee. Compare your experiences with the then BJP government, and as the Attorney General under the new regime. 
The basic difference I have found is that the current government seems to be in a tearing hurry to get on with development, to do something today that should be done tomorrow. In the last six months, I have seen bureaucrats working seven days a week! 
The government seems very keen to implement developmental changes, changes to laws, which will affect every aspect of a poor man’s life. That I think is the biggest difference that I have noted.
