Through a musical awareness campaign, Aishwarya Vishwajit Rane hopes to change the way people with disabilities look at themselves and how society views them too

Aishwarya Viswajit Rane, 18, has known no easy life. A debilitating disability wrecked not only her physical strength but also her confidence early on, but with support and self-motivation, she rose above hardship.
Keen to make a change for others and give people with physical and mental disabilities a positive way to approach life, she has initiated a musical awareness campaign she calls Wings of Hope, scheduled in July at Kala Academy. Children from Sanjay School, Sharada Mandir High School and other institutes will be a part of this campaign with music, art, drama and more.
Through her passion for music, Rane is looking at changing mindsets and outlooks of both people with disabilities and those without, in order to create a more inclusive society.
She opens up to VIVA GOA about Wings of Hope.

Tell us about your campaign.
The main aim of Wings of Hope is to make people more accepting of those with physical and mental challenges in society. They need to receive equal opportunities and be treated with respect. People need to be more open-minded and do all they can to give the physically and mentally challenged a chance to live a happy life.
