Goa Talkies – Short Film Carnival 2015 held

In a bid to cultivate the culture of film-making in Goa and provide a platform for upcoming filmmakers Goa Talkies organised a three-day Goa Short Film Carnival 2015 (GSFC), from February 20-22 at Panaji.

The jury comprised eminent personalities from the film industry including Director and Co-Producer of Home Sweet Home Swapnil Shetkar, popular cinematographer Sharmad Raiturcar, and Director of The Victim Milroy Goes.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, and Guests of Honour, MLA of Panaji Constituency Sidharth Kuncalienker, national award-winning Director Rajendra Talak and the Proprietor of Friends Property Ramesh Tiwari. 

Goa Talkies is a Panaji-based initiative by Amol Ajgaonker and Tinky George that aims at making Goa-centric films and organising like-minded events in the state. 

The partners for this event were BIG 92.7 FM (radio), Viva Goa (lifestyle magazine), Prime Slots (outdoor media), G1 TV (channel), Deep Focus Cinema (cine magazine). Event associates were You & Me and Real Group of Companies.

The award winners were:
BEST FILM – Students Category – 32 Miles, directed by Allan John & Josephern D’Souza, produced by ITI Margao 
BEST CAMERA/CINEMATOGRAPHY – Deep Sawant for Marathi short film The Guest. (A film by Bipin Khedekar – Goa)
BEST CHILD ACTOR – Nachiket Joshi for Marathi short film Puranpoli. Directed/produced by Yashwant Jadhav
BEST ACTOR (MALE) – Rajdeep Naik for Marathi short film The Guest. (A film by Bipin Khedekar – Goa)
BEST ACTOR (FEMALE) – Runa Chowdhury for Bengali short film Pari. 
BEST STORY – Keerthi Natarajan for Navilugary. 
BEST EDITING – Suyash Gupta for Marathi short film The Guest. (A film by Bipin Khedekar – Goa)
BEST DIRECTION - Rohin Raveendran for Little Hands.
BEST JURY SHORT FILM – Pensou, directed by Milind Kuri, produced by Esham Studios.
BEST FILM – Puranpoli, directed/produced by Yashwant Jadhav.
