Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur – A Taj Luxury Hotel's Goan General Manager Vincent Ramos has steered the hotel towards earning the Traveler’s Choice World Best Hotel of 2016 award through his hospitable nature and perseverance

He has taken Goa’s warm-hearted nature to Rajasthan, filling Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace – A Taj Luxury Hotel with his charm and hospitality. Under the helm of general manager Vincent Ramos, the resort was named the World’s Best Hotel of 2016 by the Travelers’ Choice Awards, a first time for an Indian hotel.

The awardees were named after assembling reviews of thousands of hotels from guests from around the world. Standing regally on 26 sprawling acres of manicured lawns, the palace was built by Maharaja H H Umaid Singh between 1928 and 1943, and continues to be one of the largest private residences in the world. It was converted into a hotel in 1972.

Ramos is Goan through and through, completing his education is at Monte De Guirim and later at the Institute of Hotel Management Goa in Porvorim. Then he received a Masters in Business Administration from S P Jain Institute of Management and Research in Mumbai. Hospitality to him is something every Goan is born with and this nature has helped him come a long way today. Vincent Ramos speaks to VIVA GOA about his journey and the hotel's latest recognition.
