Cidade de Goa: Mixing a Handful of Joy This Festive Season through ‘Cake Mixing Ceremony’ and ‘Paint My Cidade’
Cidade, on 14th November, hosted two very different events to spread happiness this season of joy. It held it’s annual Cake Mixing Ceremony, the tradition that heralds in Christmas as well as an art activity, Paint My Cidade, on the occasion of Children’s day. It was a load of fun amidst great cheer and fervour.
In true tradition, Cidade de Goa whole-heartedly involved
everyone in this ceremony, including all guests and staff. Massive trays of
raisins, black currants, candied orange peel, candied cherries and over a hundred assorted nuts were mixed along with the ‘spirit of the season’
in bottles - wine, rum, whiskey as well as signature syrups and spices to soak
the fruits. The matured and seasoned fruits are used by the speciality chefs while baking the traditional Cidade
Christmas plum cake.
While
live entertainment,
delicious snacks and sweet memories captured the joy of the festive
season
at this event.
To be the reason behind their
smile, twenty specially
abled students from Sanjay School - center for special education
were invited to Cidade de Goa to experience and enjoy the liveliness of the
ambience and also exhibit their innate painting skills.
The Children were welcomed with refreshing welcome drinks and
escorted to an exquisitely decorated hall. The children were put to ease and freely interacted with
Cidade associates during the initial introduction icebreaker.
The innocent
eyes sparkled
with excitement as we took
the children around for a
property show. Attired in Cidade T- Shirts,
they were captured on camera with their
painting Kits. They surprised us with some stunning images/paintings of
Cidade captured in just
two hours. They may be differently abled, but immensely talented!
Caramel popcorn milkshake seemed to be the pick of the day
from the carefully crafted menu. The children were thrilled to receive participation certificates; a small token of appreciation for work passionately done.
The dual
happiness spreading events at Cidade de Goa, highlighted the camaraderie all
around and was a blissful day truly well spent!
