Renowned Mumbai-based fashion photographer Prasad Naik talks to Viva Goa about his Goa connect and his work that is minimalistic yet simple
Here’s something edgy and creative about each of his photographs, a focus on the details. Prasad Naik has a way of freezing people in frames that
brings every renowned fashion, lifestyle and advertisement brand knocking at his door.
The celebrated photographer, born in south Goa, moved to Mumbai to chase his passion for photography
as a student of the J J School of
Applied Art. Ever since his first paid assignment in college for Spykar, he has brought out emotion and individuality in every shot.
Over the years, since his graduation in 1996, he has shot fashion editorials and covers for international magazine brands including Vogue, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Wallpaper, Elle and L’Officiel and others. He also has to his credit some spectacular campaigns for Vogue EyeWear, PH Purses, L’Oreal, Swiss International Airlines, Ravissant, Nivea, Dove, Killer Jeans, Pantene, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and others. In 2013, he bagged the Photographer of the Year at the Vogue Beauty Awards.
In his two decade-long career, Naik has worked with the who’s who of Bollywood: from Late Sridevi to new entrant Janhvi Kapoor, as well as Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, to name a few.
