Combat the toll of the heat and sun on your body by following these few simple precautions to avoid hydration
Summer holidays are what families look forward to. Vacation plans entail anything from international travel and crossing state borders to even a jaunt to the waterfall nearby.
Ensuring you are well-hydrated through days of touring and lazing is extremely important, to prevent heat exhaustion and fatigue, and more importantly to keep your organs functioning optimally and enable appropriate waste excretion.
Tanking up on good old water – the book says two to three litres per day – should hold you in good stead as the sun beats down fiercely. It may appear like an enormous amount of water to drink each day, but distributing your water intake evenly will help. During your 16-hour waking period, simply drink a litre (equivalent to a mere five glasses of water) every 3-4 hours.
