AN ARTISTIC EYE

The multi-talented Sainath Padte has a penchant for creating art for public places through signages
Sainath Padte, the superstar of signboard art, is a quintessential ‘rags to riches’ example who with sheer hard work and determination proved his calibre. With a passionate and dedicated approach towards art inherited from his father Krishna, he immersed himself in designing, painting, music and theatre long before he began formal training in the subject.
His father’s experience as a theatre personality who worked with legendary filmmaker, producer and actor V Shantaram rubbed off on the younger Padte and he went on to hone his skill and develop conceptual refinement all through college. Quick witted and with admirable repartee, he grew in popularity.
Brimming with innovative ideas and creative energy, two dimensions stifled the artist in him. He needed to break boundaries to move in other dimensions; and under the mentorship of his father, explored the stage with outstanding results.
With several awards in theatre, Padte blazed a trail across state boundaries to make a mark in Maharashtra as well. Giving credit to his college mate and noted theatre personality Rajiv Shinde, he performed nine roles in a single play with equal aplomb, receiving showers of accolades and awards.
His father’s signboard shop – Padte Arts – became a household name after he took over, with vehicle owners rushing to get their number plates designed and painted. He expanded the business and explored other commercial avenues to turn Padte Arts into a veritable a design hub.
