Fusion food fantasy
Divo Café & Bar, a new hotspot for global fusion food, delectable café bites and excellent cocktails with the euphoric sounds of live music, opened its doors amid much fanfare in Calangute recently.
With a vision to create an unmatched value proposition in the hospitality industry in India, two young entrepreneurs, Trivesh Ajgaonkar and Shikar Kumar, came up with the one-of-a-kind premium café and bar.
Deputy speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly & MLA Calangute Michael Lobo and minister for Tourism Manohar Ajgaonkar attended the launch.
Lobo said, “I am delighted that Divo Café & Bar has been conceptualised to give tourists an all new experience of fine dining, while simultaneously showcasing Goa’s heritage and culture. I wish this new venture a grand success and a prosperous future.”
Located on the main street of Calangute, Divo Café & Bar has been given a vibrant and energetic vibe by interior designer Rhea Kumar and noted Goan illustrator Manuela Mendonça Gomes. The interiors blend seamlessly with the adjoining busy street with a beautiful glass façade.
Trivesh Ajgaonkar, who spearheads operations at Divo Café & Bar, stated, “It was in early April that we got together to brainstorm a business idea. We wanted to open a contemporary restaurant that would represent the charming heritage of Goa and draw upon international flavours through an innovative menu. Hence, the idea of opening Divo Café & Bar was born.”
Other dignitaries who attended the launch included ministers Vijay Sardesai, Rohan Khaunte, Vinod Palyekar, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation chairman Deepak Pawaskar, MLA Jennifer Monserrate, Chief Secretery Dharmendra Sharma, director of sports V.
