Grand launch for Healthway Hospitals

Healthway , Goa’s first hospital owned and operated entirely by the state’s top medical professionals, was formally inaugurated by former chief minister Pratapsingh Rane and health minister Vishwajit Rane recently.

Others present included chairman of Economic Development Corporation Subhash Shirodkar, vice-chairman of GSIDC Sidharth Kuncolienker, Healthway Hospitals Pvt Ltd chairman Dr Virendra Gaonkar, Goa Doctors Alliance Pvt Ltd chairman Dr Antonio De Bossuet Afonso and a host of dignitaries, doctors and guests.

The inaugural took place with the blessings of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and MLA of Cumbarjua constituency Pandurang Madkaikar.

This medical initiative is pioneered by a team of specialist and super specialist doctors led by Dr Virendra Gaonkar and Dr Antonio De Bossuet Afonso, two of the most renowned names in Goa’s health sector, with other medical professionals who have pooled together their collective talents and resources to create this world-class facility.

Healthway Hospital offers speciality and super-speciality medical care along with other health-related services under one roof, with a vision of providing affordable healthcare to patients in Goa.

The 250-bed super-speciality hospital at  Kadamba plateau is close to the state capital and easy accessibility to all major transport hubs. It is also the only health facility in Goa to offer advanced trauma life support training for medical professionals.

Chief minister Parrikar, in a message, said, “It is our constant endeavour that the people of the state should have easy access to healthcare services of the highest quality. Healthway Hospitals will act as a valuable partner to the state government.”

Health minister Vishwajit Rane added, “Institutions like Healthway Hospitals, led by Goan doctors with a clear vision, will help create a benchmark for quality healthcare services in the state. I firmly believe that integration of private and public sectors in healthcare is critical to be able to offer premium facilities. We all need to work together to make this happen. The state government is working on various advanced programmes and would like to partner with Healthway Hospitals to make these a reality.”

Healthway Hospital is housed in a modern structure with aesthetics and architecture  moored in the Goan ethos, to make the patients and employees feel comfortable and at home.
