Leela GM Shridhar Nair honoured with the ‘GM of the Year’ award

Nair was chosen from among 200 other nominated general managers from luxury hotels and resorts all over India for this acclaimed recognition. Nair said, “The award is recognition of the team’s unwavering focus on quality and exemplary guest service. It also brings upon me a huge sense of responsibility to ensure that we only grow further to achieve our late founder chairman’s vision to position The Leela Goa as the most preferred resort in the world for its valued guests.”

Nair has been with the resort in South Goa for the last three years. He joined the group as a trainee in the mid-90s and has worked with many of its luxury properties. A double graduate in hotel management from the Institue of Hotel Management Trivandrum and in Arts from Mumbai University, he holds an MBA degree in marketing, apart from professional qualifications in hotel education from Nanyang University, Singapore and Cornell University, New York.

The hotel also scored honours with the runners-up award by Conde Nast Traveller India for the Most Favourite Leisure Resort in India. The Condé Nast Traveller Awards are conferred based on a detailed survey conducted by the magazine among its readers who voted for their preferred luxury resort.
