The 48th International Film Festival of India promises extraordinary movies, enticing activities, an electric atmosphere and a whole lot of memories. Star of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan and Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan have confirmed have their attendance
Relocated to Goa in 2014, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set for its 14th edition in the state and its 48th overall, scheduled between November 20-28, 2017.
The Directorate of Film Festivals of the union ministry of Information and Broadcasting, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) organises the festival in Goa.
National award winning director and vice chairman of ESG Rajendra Talak has announced the introduction of a ‘Bioscope’ section, while another attraction is the IFFI Village at Campal, set up under the ‘New Age Cinema’ theme. Inflated theatres are erected to screen films, offering an opportunity for non-delegates to participate.
The Village will have four theatres, a skill studio with performances, interactions with celebrities about films and other activities. Megastars of Hindi film industry, Shah Rukh Khan is the chief guest for the festival and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is being awarded ‘Indian Film Personality of the Year’ for his contribution to Indian cinema at the closing ceremony. At ‘Katta’, renowned film journalists are interviewing celebrities with a public interaction to follow.
There is also a ‘Skill Studio’, a platform for youngsters who are keen to pursue careers in film industry. Talak explained, “This is be great platform for film enthusiasts and aspiring filmmakers to understand various career opportunities within the industry.”
