Goans and pilgrims looking to participate in pilgrimages to Tirupati can now avail exclusive tours with special facilities through Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).

Tourism minister Manohar Ajgaonkar recently launched the service along with other officials. The daily bus tour packages from Goa to Tirupati and back over two days and three nights are being organised by GTDC in association with SeaBird Travels.

Ajgaonkar said, “Goans are truly blessed to have this exclusive tour by Goa Tourism through GTDC, and I am confident that this service will be a huge success.” Cabral added, “There was a long pending request from locals wishing to visit Tirupati for an exclusive package and GTDC has now worked out a very reasonably priced tour which provides comfortable travel, darshans, stay and other facilities. We are optimistic that the service will get an overwhelming response.”

The multi-axle Volvo air-conditioned semi-sleeper coach service will begin from Mapusa, stop for passengers in Panjim, Verna, Margao, Cuncolim, Canacona, and proceed to Tirupathi.

The itinerary includes a 12-hour halt at Bangalore where pilgrims can opt to sightsee or relax at the accommodation  for the day at an extra charge.  The package provides preferential service with special entry for the Lord Balaji darshan at Tirumala, prashad, and also darshan of Goddess Padmavati at Alamelu Mangapura before proceeding to Tirumala.

The `4000 package includes a link coach by APSRTC from Tirupati to Tirumala, a guide and darshan ticket. One complimentary breakfast and lunch at Tirupathi is also included.
