Together for football

FC Goa recently hosted an exclusive evening at Deltin Royale’s Skybar afloat the Mandovi River for the top echelons of society and the Goan football community .


Prominent people who were spotted at the event were chairman of Deltin Corp Jaydev Mody, managing director Ashish Kapadia, FC Goa president Akshay Tandon, prominent footballers including Arjuna Awardees Brahmanand Shankwalkar and Bruno Coutinho, FC Goa players and and club platinum members.
Tandon welcomed the guests and reiterated the club’s mission of taking football to the masses and providing a platform for the development of the sport from the junior level.
He said, “I believe we have a common vision. We all want to see football in Goa become something that the world acknowledges. Hopefully, 
we get to see a lot of Goan representation in the future Indian team and we enjoy the success that football has to give us.” 
Managing director of the Força Goa Foundation Jill Fergusson took the opportunity to explain the foundation’s purpose.
The foundation works in football, empowerment and sustainability, each of which work together to help the state and the sport develop.
FC Goa vice president Rahul Rodrigues and head coach Sergio Lobera also spoke at the event.
