Silver Medalist Swimmer at Khelo India Youth Games 2020

Goa’s performance in swimming at the recently concluded Khelo India Youth Games 2020  at Guwahati, Assam, was the talk of town. This was all thanks to Shrungi Bandekar, one of Goa’s finest swimmers who represented the state at the national level.

Besides winning two bronze medals, Bandekar won the U-17 girls silver medal in 400-metre swimming individual medley at the sporting event. Her journey with swimming initially began as a hobby, but she soon took it on professionally. At a very young age she was participating and winning medals for her state.
