She has earlier worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Goa Medical College, Goa College of Home Science and the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO). Dr Sonak has led a number of environment-related studies and advised the government on a variety of similar issues. She has also guided research teams, organised and attended workshops and conferences, and has a number of scientific publications and books to her name.
Recognised by many organizations, national and international, Dr Sonak is an inspiration to all. She discusses her work and life with VIVA GOA
