Pop Art Walks The Ramp
Fashion Guru Wendell Rodricks celebrated a marriage of nostalgia and contemporary with Popology for Lakme Fashion Week
Making a comeback to Lakme Fashion Week Resort after three years, ace designer Wendell Rodricks presented his collection POPOLOGY for Philips 2015 inspired by pop art for eager fashion fanatics.
The POPOLOGY collection is a reference to the pop up concept, keeping the theme of ‘unusual’. Rodricks said, “The theme fits with the vision of Philips Personal Care, which believes that every Indian has a unique style and it is their endeavour to help them express it.”
This personal style manifests itself in many unusual ways, given the easy styling solutions that Philips Personal Care offers, and that ‘unusuality’ is what the Popology Collection by Wendell signifies. It defines the narrative of a nostalgic 60s emotion with a fashion-forward look – a fusion of looks and themes to create something totally unexpected. For the first time ever, for Philips Personal Care, Rodricks unfurled a vast colour palette that includes sunshine yellow, burnt orange, olive green, pale mint, dove grey, black, candy pink, pale lilac, Turkish blue, turquoise blue and signature white. This fit well with the concept of youthful fashion at Philips, the theme that gives the power to the youth of today to go explore their realms of ‘unreality’ to make it ‘unusual’.
