Nadkarni part of Supreme Court delegation to Germany
Additional solicitor general of India and former advocate general of Goa Atmaram N S Nadkarni was part of a high level Supreme Court delegation invited by Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court for the Rule of Law Dialogue between the highest federal judges of the two countries on issues of mutual interest.
The six-member delegation visited Germany from June 17-24, 2018 to ideate and share experiences through high-level bilateral and international dialogues on rule of law, as well as political, social, legal, security and economic policies of mutual interest in India and abroad.
Representing the Supreme Court of India in Germany were Justice Madan B Lokur, Justice R F Nariman, former chief justice of India Justice J S Kehar, chairman of the Law Commission of India Dr Justice B S Chauhan, additional solicitor general Of India Atmaram N S Nadkarni and former vice chancellor of National Law School of India University Professor Madhava Menon
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, an institution functioning within the German Federal Economic Cooperation and External Affairs framework, planned and executed the meeting.
The delegation also visited Berlin, Frankfurt, the Constitutional Courts and their live sittings.
